However, sustained efforts will be considered as well as single landmark achievements.
The individual or organization whose work has the result of promoting positive awareness of the Delta. Promoters can fall under the category of tourism, agriculture, commerce, education, or the arts - as long as their results bring the Delta into the minds of non-residences as an important location of great value. Thes actions should occur over time and have lasting impacts.
The individual or organization whose efforts have resulted in community improvement for Delta residents, whether in quality of life, quality of services available or other benefit to the health and well-being of Delta communities. There is no timespan of efforts required for nomination; the importance of the community benefit result is the primary criterion.
The best, most promising new actor on the Delta stage, whether that be a new business offering increased value to Delta residents or tourists, a resident (recent or long time) whose new idea is dramatically impacting the Delta region for the better, or an outside force providing major new interest and positive activity beneficial to the Delta as a whole.
The Lifetime Achievement Award - reserved for the individual whose efforts to preserve, protect, promote and improve the Delta region have been considerable, sustained and productive. Nominees can encompass any facet of Delta life - agriculture, tourism, historic or environmental preservation, commerce, community service, etc. - and must be a resident of the Delta.
